The time has come for me to climb out of my cave. For those who know me, know that I spend most of my time setting in front of two glaring lights (monitors) in a red and black painted basement office. And, in this office is where I build websites, edit photographs and design ads. For a little over 20 years our family has had the privilege to be friends with the Corbett’s. The Corbett’s are Missionaries in Japan and also to the surrounding Asian countries. We have been lending our talents to help them in their ministry for the last few years. Now, the time has come to take a larger step to help further. So in May I will be packing up my gear and heading over to Japan and Korea to help set up a prayer network. This is why I’m storming out of the cave. The trip and materials are going to be costly. I am asking for help. In Japan the stronghold religions of Buddhism and Shinto offer no help for the Japanese people. The national economy has been weak for quite some time. Unemployment has risen rapidly and suicides among middle aged men are the highest in the world. There is only one church for every 38,000 people and one missionary to every 55,000 people. On June 6, 2006 in a church growth conference, Dr Cho Young Gi, pastor of the world’s largest church located in Seoul, Korea called Japan the world’s “hardest mission field”. I am asking if you would help me reach out to Japan. Our need is to raise $3,500.00, this is not much considering the impact it will have. The time is short, if you would invest in Japan please send your donation to the address enclosed. Any amount would help, 500 dollars or 20 dollars. I am set to fly out of the states at the beginning of May, 2007- only a few short weeks away. I would also ask if you know of anyone with a burden for missions that you inform them of my endeavor. I know your prayers are with us and thank you for this and your support. SOULed Out, Russ Cavender Comments (1)
