OK, it has been along time since I’ve posted But, I’ve been playing catch up! Since I got back from Japan a lot of work had to be done.

Thank God, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and I can see it. So, I’m taking this opportunity to throw up one gigantic post of all that’s been going on here.

Back

I’ve been back from Japan for over two months (it seems like days). It was a life changing trip; seeing Japan and its culture, being with the Corbetts, and going to Korea changed my view on many things. The Corbetts have always been good friends of the family and have always thought of them as bonded with hearts. The time we had together was something I can’t express but by saying I love the Corbetts more than chocolate. No really I don’t have the words to say how I feel about them.

Please if you would like to see my journey of Japan and Korea I would love to come to your Church and show how your congregation can help to fight for Japan.

H ere's some of the pic's from the trip:

Birth Day

July 23, Cindy (my sister) and Steve gave release to a 20in., 7lb 10oz baby boy. It was a wonderful experience (kinda like 6 Flags, butt instead of being on the ride we watched Cindy go around and around and upside down). Everyone was in the room for the 10 min. of pushing, Cindy (she had to be there), Steve (the proud Father), Tom (Papa), Connie (Nena), myself and even Luke (the big brother).  You should have heard the sounds in the room; grunt, ywee, grunt, wow, grunt, gross, grunt “I’m a brother!!!”, “can I hold him?! Can I?!”.

Here are the pics from that special day.

Korea! What a wonderful place! PDF Print E-mail

It’s been 10 days since my last entry. I’ve been running and working hard. We got back from Korea a few days ago. In Korea I saw an awesome nation that prays. Yes, prays. The people in Korea get up at 4 or 5 o’clock in the morning to meet at the church and pray.  Not just one small church here and there, but hundreds and thousands of people every day meeting to pray for their nation, Church, family and themselves. We also went to a prayer place, one of many, where people come to fast and pray for days. At this prayer mountain there a these small 4 X 6 foot rooms carved out of the hill for people to spend the day praying in. In the chapel at this place there are people camping out at the altar waiting to hear from God. There is nothing to compare this to in my mind. If only the rest of the world would look toward Korea to learn!

Also while I was in Korea I worked on a website for a Youth foundation. At the foundation I met two ministers that I believe will be life long friends, Pastor Jung Hoon and Evangelist Chew.  Sunday I went with there youth to the DMZ, the line that separates South and North Korea. I had a blast learning Korean from the kids in the bus on the way to the DMZ and while there walked down a tunnel that the North Koreans dug. Wow! Not a walk I want to take again, deep, long, steep….did I say steep.

While loading up to go back to the Church from the DMZ one of the kids had a stick with chicken on it, it looked good. As we traveled to the Church a girl setting with me offered a piece of meat to me on a tooth pick, thought it was chicken, NOPE! Not chicken! It was some kind of toasted maggot! It wasn’t bad so I had a few more.

Here’s some pic. Remember to look at Japanpraynetwork.com , and while your there sign up to pray for Japan. Also pray for us here we have a lot to do in the next week.

This is one of the first (if not the first) shinto shrine- just a few blocks from the Corbett's home.

One way to find a shinto shrine is to look at the a old large tree. When you find one, a shrine is probably there. Hover over the tree picture below to really see how large it is. (By the way there seems to be more shrinese here than there are bars and Churches put together in the states.)

A few day ago I spent some time with Jonathan and Lori Corbett in thiar small apt. (5th floor NO elevator). They took me around the town.

I have been using a little Japanese, Sashin Ii desuka, means “Can I take your picture”. So I’ve been using it every were. The problem is, I don’t know if they say no. Here’s a few pics, I think they said no, but it was to late.

Ok, here’s a story… Bro. Corbett and me were walking on one of the bays and as we went to past there was this fishing family having a few “drinks” and eating lunch. The man with the pink bandanna offered one of his daughters to me in marriage(girls in red or in gray). No, I’m not bringing anyone back.

One night Sharon and I went out to see what it is like in the city at night. Fukuoka is known for their Ramón noodles. Just at dusk all these carts with fold out restaurants line the streets. These restaurants pop up all around the city.

Experiencing Japan PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 10 May 2007

Well, I’ve been here two weeks. Got to see a lot of the area, taste the food (which has been good), meet new people, and experience the culture. The culture here is completely in golfed in the buddha and shinto religion, there is no where to escape it. These religions are the foundation of the Japanese food, family, government, status, communication, education, marriages, relationships, written word, spoken word, death and life. I can’t see any place that it doesn’t affect the Japanese person. This is why it is so hard here to minister. This is why there is such a need for pray to break through this haze. I have been working on the Japan Prayer Network website. JPN is a way YOU can network (join, agree together) for Japan in prayer. You visit the site and become a prayer partner. I encourage you not to just read through the site but to comment and sign up to pray. Also while your there you can read Bro. Dan’s Blog, there he explains some of what has been in my pictures. Speaking of pictures here is another batch Click here.

Please leave some comment on what you see, and if you have any questions this is a great place to ask them.
